Bahati
Hi there, my name is Bahati! I am the youngest member of the African Penguin colony at the Lehigh Valley Zoo. I am a very curious and outgoing penguin, and I have a habit of getting into trouble. I love to be the center of attention and show off my beautiful black and white feathers. My mom is known as the “pretty princess” of our colony, and I have inherited her star quality.
From the day I hatched, I became a keeper favorite. I am very social and enjoy interacting with our guests during educational programs and birthday parties. I have even made appearances at libraries, schools, and retirement communities to help spread awareness about the importance of penguin conservation. My educational presentations require a separate person to talk to guests since I never let my trainer speak! I always feel the need to be the center of attention and bray over them.
I believe that I should be nominated for the March of the Penguins Madness because I am a great ambassador for my species. I love to share my story with people and inspire them to care about African Penguins in the wild. I am always eager to learn new things and I enjoy spending time with my keepers, especially when they give me attention and neck scratches.
