My Story
Hey, I’m Ziggy—the most curious, most mischievous, and best nest-building penguin you’ll ever meet. If you visit Penguin Beach, I’ll probably be the first to greet you with a friendly (and slightly nosy) peck. I just have to know what’s going on at all times, whether it’s with the guests, the keepers, or the latest drama in the colony. If something’s happening, you better believe I’m right in the middle of it.
When it comes to enrichment, I’m all in. Chasing lights? Love it. Playing with wind chimes? Truly a delight. Hunting bugs? An absolute thrill. But my true passion is nest-building. If there’s nesting material anywhere in the habitat, it will end up in my possession. And if another penguin isn’t using their materials? Well… finders, keepers.
I spend most of my time with my partner-in-crime, Petrie. Together, we make sure no shoelace or drawstring stays tied for long. They say I’m the best thief in the business—adorable and resourceful, and what can I say? It’s my special talent.
