My Story
Hey there! I’m Stewart, and my life is all about looking up—literally! If there’s something hanging in my habitat or a light shining on the ceiling, you better believe I’m investigating it. I like to keep things interesting, and my journey has been anything but ordinary.
From the very beginning, I had to fight to be here. As the first successful chick from one of our oldest Magellanic penguin pairs, there were moments when my keepers weren’t sure I was going to make it. But after 40 days, I broke through my shell and straight into their hearts!
Hatching was just my first challenge. For years, my feathers had a mind of their own. Even though I molted like everyone else, I kept losing them again soon after. But that sure didn’t stop me! I kept eating, swimming, and causing mischief like any other penguin. This year is already shaping up to be my best one yet. For the first time since my hatching, I’ve kept all my feathers post-molt! My story is proof that a little determination (and a lot of curiosity) can get you through anything.
