My Story
Hello, I’m Stephen, SeaWorld’s most charming King Penguin with a larger-than-life personality! At 9 years old, I’ve mastered the art of stealing hearts, whether it’s with my care specialists, guests, or my lovely mate, Cleo. And yes, I am named after the legendary author, Stephen King, because let’s be real—I’m iconic in my own way.
I was hand-raised, which means I have a deep bond with my keepers and visitors. I’m friendly, interactive, and always eager to be involved in whatever’s going on. If there’s a task happening in my exhibit, I must be there to supervise! I make sure my presence is known with my signature trumpeting call, which is a true sign of affection for the people I love.
My biggest achievement? Becoming a proud penguin dad! Cleo and I welcoming our chick, Cleven (a perfect mashup of Stephen and Cleo), and watching him grow has been amazing, and I’m proud to play a role in helping my species thrive.
I’m not just a penguin. I’m an ambassador, a teacher, and a fan favorite! My personality, love for human interaction, and dedication to connecting with guests make me perfect for March of the Penguin Madness.
