My Story
Hi, I’m Squeegee, though my friends also call me Squeege! I’m a sweet-hearted, shy penguin who’s always trying my best. As a chick, my curiosity had me following my keepers around everywhere, but especially when they were cleaning the exhibit windows. As a result, I naturally earned my name.
To this day, I still keep my prime nesting spot right by the exhibit window, where I can watch all the action. Every morning, I make sure to greet my keepers with my signature enchanting squeal. I like to make sure they know I’m ready for the day!
I may be one of the smallest penguins in the exhibit, but don’t underestimate me. If you get between me and my capelin, you’ll regret it. Right now, I’m on a quest for love, but until I find my perfect match, I’m busy stealing the hearts of my keepers, guests, and everyone who visits the Fort Worth Zoo. I’m the heart of my colony and a welcoming presence for all. I hope to inspire even more people to love penguins than already do!
