My Story
Hey everyone, I’m Nelly. I’ve been a fighter from the moment I hatched. I started life as an underdog, breaking out of an egg that was half the weight of a normal northern rockhopper. No one was sure I’d make it, but I had other plans.
My journey wasn’t easy. After I defied expectations and hatched, I was adopted by a lone male who did his best to raise me. But then, one stormy night, he was scared from the nest, and I was left alone. By morning, I was soaking wet and seemingly lifeless. But just when all hope seemed lost, my keeper heard a faint little ‘peep’, and that was all it took. Thanks to the care of my incredible team, I pulled through and was later raised by another rockhopper pair.
Fast forward to today, and I’m a thriving, plump young penguin with a great, vivid personality. I may not be fully grown yet, but I already know how to make my presence known! I’ve got a feisty streak, a sassy attitude, and a whole lot of love from my keepers and visitors alike. I’ve beaten the odds before, and now I’m ready to take on March of the Penguin Madness!
