My Story
Hello, I’m Eze, the wise old man of the colony at 23 years young. Around here, they call me Papa Bear, and for good reason—I’ve helped raise a whole generation, and then some! My mate, Skipper, and I have proudly raised 8 chicks of our own, and when the grandkids needed a little extra help, I stepped up to foster four of them too.
Parenting is my calling. Whether it’s incubating eggs or ensuring the younger pairs learn the ropes, I’m always there to lend a flipper. Even now, with arthritis slowing me down a bit, I wasn’t about to let my last grandchild go without a good start in life.
The keepers say I’m the bird they can always count on, and honestly, that means a lot. Raising chicks isn’t just about keeping our colony strong—it’s about giving the next generation the best chance to thrive. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
