My Story

Hello, I’m Dot, a proud matriarch of Sea World’s Penguin Point and a devoted mother, both to my own chicks and as a surrogate to others. I take my role very seriously, whether it’s helping raise the next generation of little blue penguins or ensuring I’m first in line at training sessions, because let’s be honest, I love my food!

I’m a quick learner and very cooperative when it comes to standing on scales, walking over the podoscope, and making sure my keepers can provide me with the best care. My long-term partner, Cornelious, and I have been incredibly successful in contributing to our species’ breeding program. Together, we build our burrow each year and prepare to welcome new chicks into the colony.

But my nurturing side doesn’t stop with my own family. I’ve also been a wonderful surrogate mother, recently fostering three chicks. My gentle nature makes me one of the most beloved penguins at Penguin Point, and I love watching over the younger birds as they grow.

With my leadership, kindness, and dedication to my species, I’m honored to represent little blue penguins in March of the Penguin Madness!
