My Story

Hey everyone, I’m Bananas Foster! As one of the only juvenile Little Penguins in my colony, I’ve had a pretty special start in life. I was the first Little Penguin at Adventure Aquarium to be fostered by another pair, and let me tell you, my adoptive parents did not disappoint. They took me in with open flippers and raised me to be the energetic, playful, and mischievous penguin I am today!

I’m always on the move, whether I’m swimming, exploring my habitat, or keeping a close eye on the biologists. They never get to work unsupervised! It should be said that I love enrichment time. Kelp, sand toys, and laser pointers are my favorites, but nothing beats my morning routine of chasing the broom. I learned that one from my foster dad!

I also have a signature game—peek-a-boo! I’ll sneak up behind the biologists, give them a little poke, and then vanish before they can catch me. With my light gray eyes, whicha rarity in my colony, I’ve got a gaze that keeps everyone on their toes, especially new staff members. During feedings, I make sure to give them my most skeptical side-eye before graciously accepting my fish.

I may be a Little Penguin, but I bring big energy, tons of charm, and endless curiosity my colony every day!
