My Story

Hello there, I’m Alfie. I’m known as the wallflower of the Home Pen and a penguin who doesn’t just know exactly what she likes, but also what she doesn’t. Case in point: squid. I hate it. No one understands why, but I stand by my decision.

Because of my picky tastes, my molts tend to be less than perfect, leaving me looking a little patchy for most of the year. That means my keepers have to apply sunscreen to keep me protected during the hot summer months. It’s just another reason why I am a distinguished little lady with very specific needs.

I may be small, but I’ve made a home for myself in a foreign land and even found love! I bring a touch of elegance to our mismatched SANCCOB family, proving that diversity is beautiful—even if it comes with an extreme dislike for certain seafood. At the end of the day, I’m not here to put on a show. I’m just living my best life, poolside, in my own quiet way.
